During this session of Compliance School we will cover NCUA specific laws and regulations. Although many NCUA regulations apply only to Federally Chartered Credit Unions, some regulations apply to both State and Federal Credit Unions. Students who want to prep for the fifth CUCE exam should attend this session.
We will be covering the following topics:
Overview of NCUA’s Regulations and Supervisory Authority: We will discuss the Federal Credit Union Act, the ways in which the NCUA regulates credit unions and the different ways in which the NCUA disseminates regulations and guidance to credit unions.
Federal Share Insurance: We will discuss the recent changes in share insurance, coverage for different account types and requirements to maintain share insurance coverage.
Management Issues: This section covers the duties of boards of directors, federal credit union bylaws, and required management duties.
Field of Membership: We will discuss the NCUA’s chartering and field of membership policies and charter conversions.
Supervisory Committees: This section covers the duties and responsibilities of the Supervisory Committee.
Credit Union Service Organizations: We will discuss the purpose, organization and limitations of CUSO’s.
