This session will cover the basics of member business lending and is a must for all new commercial lenders and/or those individuals who want to explore this vital discipline!
We will begin with a brief overview of member business loans (MBL) and the concept of “credit scoring.” Also covered will be the “full” underwriting of MBL including a brief review of “financial statement analysis” (with emphasis on assessing the company’s liquidity, activity, leverage, operating performance, and cash flow) and “tax return analysis.” Additionally, a standard commercial loan “write-up” or written presentation format will be displayed.

Speaker: David Osburn is the founder and managing member of Osburn & Associates LLC, a Las-Vegas-based business training and contract CFO firm. His extensive professional background encompasses over 27 years in banking, finance and marketing. In addition, David is an Adjunct Professor for Regis University, an accredited MBA program and the College of Southern Nevada. He has taught college courses for over 26 years. David earned an MBA in Finance/Marketing from Utah State University and a BS in Finance from Brigham Young University. He is also a graduate of the University of Oklahoma National Commercial Lending School.
