Presented by: Mark Knold, Senior and Supervising Economist, Department of Workforce Services

The Great Recession still lingers over the Utah and national economies. When will this shadow fade from the face of the economic landscape? Utah has done much better in recovering from the recession than most states. But there are still lingering effects. The Utah economy will be evaluated for its present condition and its expected future performance. Characteristics of Utah’s labor force and industry profiles will be explored. This session will also allow time for questions and answers.

Across all successful organizations one common ingredient is present – the measurement of results. In credit unions, however, these measurements often reflect just one dominant dimension of performance, namely, traditional financial performance data and ratios used by banks and credit unions alike for decades. 

In this interactive presentation about the evolving role of data and performance measurements in today’s credit union movement we will discuss the increasing need to balance the traditional financial metrics, as well as those unique to the cooperative model.
