Quick Bite: No One Ever Made a Bad Loan with Risk or Merit-Based Lending

In the lending world of today, most lenders have a pricing grid on rates, based on the somewhat new concept of merit based or risk based lending. Yet, despite these changes and challenges, the process of approving or denying a loan request is really not that different than it was “ back in the day”.  The goal of any lender is to make the best loan for the member and the best loan for the credit union. It’s about booking quality loans. But making quality loans in these challenging times is even more difficult and cumbersome. During this presentation, some of the topics include:

  • No One Ever Makes Bad Loans
  • The Pros and Cons of Risk or Merit Based Lending
  • The Spread – Low to High
  • Where do We Draw The Line
  • How to Deal With Today’s Lending Market
  • The One Word Restricting Loan Growth
